Degesch America, Inc, in partnership with Specialty Gases Pty Ltd, is excited to announce the initiation of the registration process of a new fumigant, Ultraphos®, for use in the USA market.

Ultraphos® is a high purity phosphine fumigant in a gaseous state packaged in reusable steel cylinders. It is intended to be blended on-site with forced air utilizing proprietary equipment manufactured by GasApps Australia P/L. The product will be exclusively distributed in the USA by Degesch America, Inc.

“We’re very excited about this addition to our product line”, states Herb Yeaman, President of Degesch America, Inc. “We currently offer top of the line PH3 products in a diverse array of packaging and believe the addition of Ultraphos® will offer our customers another option for success.”

Ultraphos® was submitted to the USEPA for registration approval in January 2022 and is anticipated to be commercially available to the industry in 2023.

Degesch America, Inc. is proud to announce the rebranding of our company logo. We remain committed to our core values: safety, customer service, quality, and product stewardship. This rebranding further aligns us with our global partners and represents the Detia-Degesch Group’s ever-expanding outreach to better serve our international customer base. The process will continue through 2022 as we navigate through full implementation of the transition.

GEAPS International Board of Directors has postponed GEAPS Exchange 2021 due to continuing concerns about COVID-19 and the upcoming flu season.  Originally scheduled for February of next year, the event will now take place at the Columbus Convention Center Aug. 6-9, 2021. Registration opens in May.

The impact of COVID-19 on the United States is difficult to predict and will be uncertain for the foreseeable future. Out of an abundance of caution, and to ensure business continuity, Degesch America, Inc. has taken numerous  actions to prepare employees and business units to remain healthy and safe.

Currently, we have ample inventory and our supply chain has not been adversely disrupted. We remain in close communication with our suppliers and receive regular updates. We will pass along any possible adverse supply chain impacts to you as they are received.

Degesch America, Inc. understands industry precautionary measures may impact the way we interact over the coming months. We remain committed to ensuring the health of our employees, customers and business partners and the continuance of our products and services.

In a MEMORANDUM ON IDENTIFICATION OF ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKERS DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE dated March 19, 2020, the US Department of Homeland Security, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency stated:

“If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.”

The memorandum further states that:

The attached list identifies workers who conduct a range of operations and services that are essential to continued critical infrastructure viability, including … food and agriculture, transportation and logistics…”

The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) has been instrumental in working to ensure that all state and local agencies include pest control services in any list of essential businesses that will be allowed to continue normal operational schedules.  During a March 20, 2020 webinar viewable here, https://www.pestcontrolcoronavirus.com/,  NPMA provided guidance for pest control operators during these difficult times.
